Eastern Québec, which is part of the Central Québec School Board, has been providing adult education services in English for more than 25 years. Our reputation as a small centre with a dynamic, caring approach has contributed to student success in General Education, Vocational Education and language courses.
Because Bill 101 does not apply to the adult sector, we have a strong representation of Anglophones, Francophones and students from other multi-ethnic backgrounds at the Centre.
As an adult learning centre, Eastern Québec’s mission is to promote student success, lifelong learning and to prepare our diverse clientele of learners for further education and/or the workplace. We provide quality English instruction in a stimulating, safe, mutually respectful and supportive environment. We support the individual learning process so that students can take their place in society as reliable, confident, professional, autonomous and successful adult self-learners.
The Ministry of Education mandates all schools and centres in the province of Québec to convene a Governing Board. The Governing Board is to be made up of staff members, parents, school administrators and may even include a community member and a student representative. Our experienced team of teachers working in our programmes, accompany students throughout their studies. The opportunity to study in an English environment opens doors to many interesting job opprtunities. We invite you to explore the career opportunities that the Eastern Québec Learning Center can offer you.

« Compared to another institution, the big advantage is the individualized learning approach. Over there, the pace was too slow and I was bored. I like to go at my own pace and progress on many projects at a time. Students can help each other too, which is an advantage. »
